Meeting the Challenges of Health Information Privacy and Security

Federal laws, including HIPAA, have been enacted to ensure health information privacy and security for patient information. While this is essential protection for the patient, it presents many challenges for health care providers, health plans and employers, among others. DDRH regularly advises entities impacted by these issues on the various health care laws and regulations such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Wyoming Hospital Records Information Act, provider confidentiality requirements and state public health confidentiality and privacy requirements.
