Nick Healey presented: You Can’t Always Get What You Want: Managing the Flow of Information During Credentialing, on May 4, 2012, at the inaugural meeting of the Wyoming Association of Medical Staff Services (WyAMSS) at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. The event was attended by medical staff professionals representing approximately 14 Wyoming hospitals, and Nick’s presentation discussed Wyoming and federal legal requirements and prohibitions on disclosing information during the medical staff credentialing and privileging process.

Tim Woznick’s article, “Proceed With Caution!” was recently published in the February 2012 Wyoming Lawyer publication. The article addresses the Service Members Civil Relief Act. The article describes the protections provided members of the armed services faced with civil litigation (such as collections actions), and highlights how to comply with the Act and common ways it is inadvertently violated.

(March 2009) W. Perry Dray (bio) attended the Healthcare Roundtable for Corporate Counsel (HRCC) this month in Atlanta, GA. Perry has been a member of HRCC since its inception in 2001. HRCC is a very special assembly of selected corporate counsel who meet with their peers and design their own leading experiences. Membership in the roundtable is by invitation only and is limited to 45 members from non-competing, not for profit organizations across the nation. The member/attorneys meet twice a year for seminars designed by themselves involving relevant issues in healthcare. During the seminars members share experiences, projects, legal/medical/management challenges and visions of future trends and issues in order to instruct, improve, and enlighten one another.

Dyekman (bio) proudly served on the steering committee for the tremendously successful dinner on January 21, 2009 honoring former Vice President and Mrs. Cheney on behalf of the Frontier District, Longs Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The Cheyenne dinner was both a welcome home celebration for the Cheneys and the largest fund-raising event ever conducted in the Longs Peak Council, and was attended by more than 350.

The program was part of an ongoing series of lunchtime talks given by a variety of speakers.
